Our good friends at Pragmatic Works have announced their free webinar training schedule for the months of June and July. We’ve teamed up for an incredible set of webinars focused on SQL Server and Business Intelligence taught by bestselling authors, many of which are authors for Wrox. Reponse has been fantastic and we’re getting close to being full on several sessions.

6/7: Dynamic SSIS: Configurations, Expressions, and Variables, Brad Schacht
One of the biggest hurdles in any organization is migrating from DEV to PROD with minimal issues. In this session Brad will help get you over the learning curve of making dynamic SSIS packages to make this transition easier. Topics of discussion will include using all the different types of package configurations, the SSIS expression language and variables. After diving into each of these topics Brad will talk about best practices as well as the pros, cons and limitations of using each type of configuration. At the end of this session you will be able to configure your SSIS packages to be simple to modify and move without even opening a package!
 
6/14: Introduction to MDX, Brian Knight
The MDX query language is one of the toughest and most powerful languages in your arsenal as a business intelligence developer. In this session, you’ll start from the ground-up learning how to create a basic MDX statement and then quickly how do you solve complex business problems with this well-structured language.
 
7/5: Common Analysis Services Design Mistakes and How to Avoid Them, Devin Knight
Anyone new to developing Analysis Services Cubes will get thrilled when processing a cube successfully for the first time. Even though a cube is built there are many potential design mistakes that are often made. This session reviews common design mistakes that are made when building Analysis Services Cubes. You will learn how you can build a more effective cube that provides faster performance, faster development and simpler maintenance.
 
7/19: What’s New in BI Denali, Brian Knight
In this session, you’ll go through a whirlwind tour of what’s new in one of Microsoft’s biggest releases of SQL Server in its history: SQL Server code named Denali. You’ll learn about the upcoming Crescent feature, which allows users to build ad-hoc reports easily. You’ll also learn about the BI Semantic Model in SSAS and the huge enhancements to SSIS. Lastly, Brian will cover the database engine enhancements that make BI more accessible and faster.
 
7/28: Introduction to PowerPivot, Adam Jorgensen
Come join Adam as he explores the new PowerPivot technology, how to configure and get it up and running and build exciting reports in a very short amount of time. This will be an all demo session and lots of fun!
